FAQs

Will I get all of the digital files with the original price I pay?

The original price is just the session fee, so you are then free to purchase what you want and are not locked into any specific package. All of them will be available for download for an additional fee, however if you want prints or digitals of just a few select photos that is also an option!

Where should we plan for a location?

Most people want the beach so in that case you may either choose your favorite or I can recommend some that are best for variety in backgrounds and light. If you want something other than the beach I also have a few ideas up my sleeve!

Do we get every picture that you take?

I take many pictures within a session to ensure I have at least one perfect shot for each pose. When you receive your gallery you will not see blinking shots, outtakes, unedited photos, or 10 of the same pose.

What gear do you use?

I am a canon girl! I have a 5D Mark III and a 5D Mark IV with a variety of lenses.

What time do you suggest for a family photo or senior session?

I like to book them all at about an hour to an hour and a half before sunset. This is the best time of day for light and to avoid harsh shadows, squinty eyes and bright spots on faces. I do offer sunrise sessions but prefer not to go much past 1 hour after the sun is up for the same reasons.

Will I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, all of my sessions require a non-refundable deposit to secure your date and time. If the session needs to be rescheduled due to weather, I will work with you to make sure that happens and your same deposit may be used towards that session.

How long before we get our online gallery?

In the busy season (June-October) please allow up to 3 weeks- It is not usually that long but with weddings and multiple family sessions per week it is sometimes impossible to keep up!

What do we wear for a family session?

I always suggest to not completely match but compliment each other with colors. So choose 2-3 colors and base everyone’s outfits off of that! I also suggest to not include too many patterns. So if there is a small group only have 1 person with a patterned shirt or dress and have mostly solid colors for everyone else, or if there is a large group for a generational family portrait only have one person per smaller family with a patterned shirt or dress! I can also provide galleries of examples for you, just ask!
